Dr. Brandon Kofford was raised in Midvale, Utah, where he lived until the age of 19. From there, his journey took him around the world, beginning with two years in Maceió, Brazil, where he taught principles of a happy life and developed a deep love for the Portuguese language and the Brazilian people.

Upon returning to the U.S., he resumed his studies at Brigham Young University with two clear goals in mind: to find a life partner and to fulfill all the prerequisites necessary for dental school admission. He accomplished both. In May 2004, he married Marian—whom he describes as beautiful, talented, kind, loving, thoughtful, intelligent, and incredible—and shortly after, the couple moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where Dr. Kofford began his dental education and career.

Recognizing the financial demands of dental school and the desire to start a family, Dr. Kofford accepted a U.S. Air Force scholarship—an opportunity that proved to be a pivotal and rewarding decision. Following dental school, he was selected for the Air Force’s prestigious Prosthodontics residency program, where he trained under a team of distinguished mentors, including Col. Mattie, Col. Taylor, Col. Longo, Col. Guillory, Col. DeFreest, Col. Phoenix, Col. Sutton, and Col. Villalobos. With their guidance, he successfully earned board certification from the American Board of Prosthodontists in December 2011—one of the proudest milestones of his career.

After earning his Master of Science degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Dr. Kofford and his growing family—now with four children—were stationed at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, England. There, he served for three years as the Director of Prosthodontics, providing care to a military community of over 30,000 active duty members and dependents. He also mentored 29 clinicians and led a ten-person dental laboratory as the Base Dental Laboratory Flight Commander.

As much as he valued his time in the Air Force, Dr. Kofford and his wife ultimately decided it was time to transition out of military service to focus on their growing family, now with six children. Seeking the ideal place to raise their family, they settled in Apex, North Carolina—just minutes from his current practice in Cary. Dr. Kofford was honored to accept the opportunity to carry on the legacy of Dr. Karen Bruggers, who established Cary Prosthodontics as a center for advanced prosthodontic care in the Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Raleigh, and Garner communities. With deep humility and gratitude, Dr. Kofford remains dedicated to continuing her legacy and providing exceptional care to the patients and professionals he serves.
