Whether you’re new to the world of dental implants or you have years of experience placing and restoring dental implants, The Pathway is here for you.
At our last event in Napa, “Implant Complication - Uncorking The Complexities That Arise With Dental Implants”, we were joined by dentists from all across the country who wanted to learn more about dental implants, complications, and how to manage unexpected issues during implant planning, surgery, and recovery.
This three-day event was held from June 2nd to June 4th, 2022, and focused on lectures concerning the complications that can crop up while placing dental implants. No prerequisites were required, so all were welcome to join Dr. Justin Moody, Dr. Steven Vorholt, and Dr. Bart Silverman for this session in Napa, California.
Interested in future sessions? Along with our yearly session in Napa, we host an identical event in Kentucky. This year’s Kentucky event, the Bourbon & Blunders Trail, will be held from October 27- 29, 2022. Click here to learn more and see when the next session is available, and read on for more details about what we discussed during this event.
Join Us For Three Days Of Lectures On Implant Complications
During our three-day event, Drs. Justin Moody, Steven Vorholt, and Bart Silverman discuss every aspect of implant complications and how to manage them.
Throughout our lectures, dentists from all over the country join The Pathway to learn about implant complications. Our team discusses past issues they’ve experienced, how to catch complications early, and best practices on how to manage dental implant complications as they happen. Our course focuses on four primary topics:
- Avoiding complications before they happen – This includes reviewing medical history, assessing risk factors, proper CBCT use, ideal treatment planning, developing surgical guides, and other topics that can help dentists prepare for surgery and prevent the most common implant complications.
- Managing surgical complications – From complications and mistakes during surgery to initial healing and post-recovery complications, this topic includes details about how to identify and fix problems that have happened during or shortly after surgery.
- Managing restorative complications – Once you’ve gotten through surgery, you may think that you’re free and clear. But complications can happen later during restoration and implant maintenance, too. It’s critical to understand that dentists understand these complications and know how to treat and manage them.
- How to discuss complications with patients – When complexities and complications arise, proper communication is essential for a good patient experience. Our doctors discuss how to approach complications, communicate with patients effectively, and manage expectations and appointments to ensure they get the best possible outcome.
Enjoy Yourself While You Earn CE
It’s not all work and no play, though. Our Napa event is held in the wine country of California’s Napa Valley. Gorgeous views, after-hours wine tastings and get-togethers with other dentists are all on the menu.
And during our Kentucky events, we explore distilleries on Kentucky’s world-famous Bourbon Trail. After each day’s session, you can enjoy a glass of whiskey straight or on the rocks, network, and discuss what you’ve learned throughout the day with other dental professionals.
Learn About Implant Complications So You Can Avoid Them In The Future
As Dr. Steven Vorholt says, “Most complications can be avoided with proper diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient communication. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” That was the main takeaway from our most recent event in Napa.
No matter your experience level with dental implants, you’re welcome at The Pathway’s next event. We’re holding our Napa Implant Complication event again in the summer of 2023 at The Westin Verasa in Napa, California, and you’re welcome to join us. Stay tuned for specific dates!
Can’t wait? You’re also welcome to join us at our Kentucky Implant Complication training session, the Bourbon & Blunders Trail. This event covers the same content as the Napa event, just with a different location. It will be held from October 27- 29, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville, KY.
