Our annual Bourbon & Blunders Trail event just concluded, and was held from October 27-29th, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville, Kentucky. Did you miss out? Don’t worry. We’ll be announcing 2023 dates soon.
The Bourbon & Blunders Trail is the sister event to our other annual implant complication education event that’s held yearly in the Napa Valley of California – Uncorking The Complexities That Arise In Everyday Practice. The locations may be different, but the content for both implant complication courses is identical, so you can choose which seminar to attend.
During this three-day event, dentists from around the nation will join Dr. Justin Moody, and Oral Surgeon, Dr. Bart Silverman for three days as they lecture on their complications and failures throughout their career in implant dentistry. The focus of this event from The Pathway is on how to prevent, recognize, and overcome common dental implant complications.
What To Expect At The Bourbon & Blunders Trail – Education, Connection, And Exploration
As you may have already guessed, the Bourbon & Blunders Trail is not about success stories. Throughout the seminar, you’ll hear about real-world experiences that Drs. Moody and Silverman have encountered throughout their years of placing dental implants. Primarily, their lectures and sessions focus on four topics:
- Preventing common complications – From initial consultations to using CBCT, reviewing treatment plans, and other steps, our lecturers will discuss the best practices you can implement to eliminate the risk of common dental implant complications.
- Surgical complication management – Even the best-laid plans can go awry. From mistakes during surgery to other issues during healing and recovery, it’s important to be able to recognize surgical and post-surgical complications, and know the best steps to treat them.
- Managing complications with restorations – Your job isn’t over once the implant is in place. Things can go wrong during the development and placement of dental restorations like crowns, bridges, and dentures, too. Recognizing, managing, and resolving these complications is critical for your long-term success as an implant dentist.
- Patient communication – Complications happen. And when they do, you need to know how to communicate with patients, address their concerns, and find the right path forward and the best solution for their case.
Our course will cover all of these topics and more, and is worth 24 CE credits. Whether you’re new to the world of implant dentistry, or you have years of experience with dental implants, you're sure to learn something new during our Bourbon & Blunders Trail lectures.
Explore The Bourbon Trail & Network With Other Dental Professionals
Of course, the fun doesn’t stop with our lectures! We host the Bourbon & Blunders Trail at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville, which is home to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. After lectures, we explore distilleries throughout Northwest Kentucky.
You’ll have the chance to meet with dentists from around the nation, network, discuss what you’ve learned throughout each day of lectures, and relax with a glass of the best bourbon whiskey that Kentucky has to offer.
